Week 6 - 1st October Fixtures

In West 1, the top two are both away this weekend, with East Kilbride visiting 6th place Allan Glens and Carrick at fifth place Kilmarnock. Newton Stewart in third are still unbeaten after last weeks trip to Oban was put off early doors - they look to have the more comfortable game with a home tie against Helensburgh - whose only win so far this year has been against league strugglers Irvine.

In West 2, free scoring Cambuslang are away at Lenzie (who have conceded 159 points in 5 games), whilst Millbrae look to recover from last weeks surprise defeat to Cumnock with a home game against Paisley (who last week beat promotion contenders Stewartry).  If we were to exclude Cambuslang from this league, things look pretty tight in West 2 with each team seemingly capable of beating each other - home advantage looks to be playing its' part, and bonus points could be crucial come the end of the season.

Strathendrick are the only unbeaten team in West 3, but they find themselves in third place as their game against Birkmyre was off last week.  They have a home game against Uddingston, who are sitting top of the table.  This should be a great contest - Endrick haven't conceded a point yet this season, whilst Uddingston have scored 241 in five games - should be a real ding dong.  Loch Lomond are in 2nd place and should have an easier time of things with an away game at Bishopton who are struggling down towards the foot of the table.  Who knows, Lomond might find themselves top come 5 o'clock on Saturday.

In West 4 we have two unbeaten teams, Lanark and Glasgow University Medics. Lanark have only conceded 17 points in three games, so they'll be looking to continue their run on their travels to Mull but will need to be cautious as they had a big win away at Hyndland last week.  The Uni boys will also expect to win with a home tie against Cowal, but they've only lost one game so far this season, so it's not a gimmie.

Best of luck to all who are playing this weekend, and fingers crossed the rain calms down a wee bit.
