West League Update - West 3 - 25th March 2018
We’re into the closing stages of the West 3 Championship race, with leaders Wigtownshire only having three games remaining, whilst their challengers for the title, Glasgow Uni Medics and Bishopton both have five games each.

West League Update - West 2 - 25th March 2018
No change at the top of West 2, so with eight Saturdays of the season remaining, we still have four Clubs jostling for the title. At the foot, bonus points are making a difference, whilst Waysiders are getting dragged into the relegation dogfight as they again were unable field a team.
There were comfortable wins for each of the top four in West 2, with bonus points all round, so no change to the championship contest.

West League Update - West 1 - 25th March 2018
This could be the decisive week in the West 1 promotion battle, with Glens losing out to Garnock and a big win for Carrick - there’s six games remaining and Carrick have stretched their lead to 12 points. Whilst in the relegation battle, a four try bonus point for Cambuslang moves them a point further ahead of Oban Lorne.
We made the trip to Lochshore on Saturday to take in the 3rd place v 2nd place battle with the hope of a handful of tries in an open flowing game. Both teams are averaging over 30 points a game, but whilst we did get a game with ebb and flow, it was the defences who were on top which meant there were few try scoring opportunities. If we’d review the points against column then we’d probably have figured that into out expectations, as both are averaging less than 15 points a game.

West Results Under 18 Cup (Male) - 24th March 2018
It's the knock-out stages for the West Under 18 Cup on Saturday. The Chairmans Trophy goes straight to a final, whilst the other trophies are at the semi-final stages.
And then on Sunday, it's the National Under 18 Cup Final at Murrayfield.

Just two games played in West 3 at the weekend, with top team Wigtownshire winning 69-8 at home against Lochaber, and Glasgow Uni Medics also winning at home, 51-17 against Isle of Mull.

We only had two games played in West 2 at the weekend, with another two games off.

With bonus point wins for each of the top four in West 1, there’s no change in positions or the points gap. We still have Carrick leading the way, 7 points ahead of Glens, but having played a game more - Garnock are another 5 points behind. Something has to give this weekend though, as 2nd place Glens visit 3rd place Garnock.

With the completion of the Group stages of the West Under 18 Cup tournament, all Clubs now go forward to a knock-out stage.

West League Update - West 3 - 11th March 2018
Following last weeks West 3 league reshuffle, Wigtownshire found themselves in pole position for the title, with each of the three title contenders now having played the same number of games, and with Glasgow Uni Medics and Bishopton scheduled to play each other on Saturday, this was a chance for Shire to stretch their lead over at least one of their challengers. But, as it turned out, there were only two games played at the weekend in West 3.

West League Update - West 2 - 11th March 2018
At the weekend, we had four of the top five in direct competition, so we were always going to get some sort of shuffling of the pack in West 2. What we ended up with was Cumnock & Lenzie swapping places and Endrick continuing their leisurely saunter up the table. At the foot, a big win for Loch Lomond should be enough for them to be clear of the 2nd relegation spot.
Leaders Paisley were away at fourth place Uddingston, where a win for the home side would probably have meant a move up to second, but it was a convincing 60-26 win for Paisley, so it’s they who strengthen their grip at the top of the table.

West League Update - West 1 - 11th March 2018
In West 1, a Carrick win over Allan Glens opens up a gap at the top of the table whilst Irvines win against Cambuslang pulls Cambus into the battle for the 2nd relegation spot - but the win for Dalziel could remove that risk.
With a 3pm kick-off, we didn’t make it to Maybole to take in the top of the table clash between Carrick & Glens, but following things on Twitter, it looks like we missed a great contest. It was all square at half time at 5 each, and a try a piece in the first 10 minutes of the second half meant with half an hour to go it was 12 all. But from the 50th minute, it was Carrick who did all the scoring, adding another three tries to give a final score of 34 - 12.
