A number of crucial games across the three West Region leagues this Saturday. So if you get the chance, go out and support your local team.
The big game in West 1 this weekend sees leaders Allan Glens visit 5th place East Kilbride. A home win & EK keep alive their faint hopes of the league, but these are currently only faint hopes - Glens are looking to make it 10 games from 10. 2nd place Garnock visit Greenock, whilst 3rd place Carrick are away to Irvine - the visitors in both games will be looking for wins to keep the pressure on Glens.
Only six points between 9th & 12th, so loads to play for. Helensburgh in 12th welcome Cambuslang, 9th, so a massive game for both Clubs. Irvine will be lucky to get much from Carricks visit, whilst Oban will be hoping they have enough to overcome visitors Annan, but this will be a tough game.
West 2 is highly competitive with each game relevant to either the promotion or relegation battles. Leaders Cumnock visit 3rd place Uddingston, 1 point between them. 2nd place Cumbernauld visit Clydebank who are 9th - Cumbernauld failed to field a team last week, so this will be their first challenge. Fourth place Strathendrick visit 7th place Strathaven, but there's only 5 points between them. 5th place Paisley host Millbrae (11th) whilst 6th place Lenzie host Waysiders. There's are only 7 points between the top 7 Clubs.
The other match in the relegation battle sees Loch Lomond visiting bottom Club Birkmyre. Apart from this last game, where we're tipping Lomond, the rest of the games are very much in the balance.
West 3 leaders Glasgow Uni Medics are looking to keep their unbeaten record going when they visit Hyndland, whilst 2nd place Bishopton host Lanark who had a crucial win last week. 3rd place Wigtownshire visit Shawlands.
The final two games sees Moffat hosting Isle of Mull and Police Scotland Glasgow welcoming Lochaber.
In addition the the male league fixtures on Saturday, we also have a number of female leagues fixtures involving West Region Clubs on Sunday.
In Premier A, Hillhead Jordanhill are looking to press home their lead at the top when RHC visit. Cartha and Ayr are both struggling at the foot of Premier B, so when they face each other at the weekend, it's a chance for one of them to get a bit of space on the other. In the other Premier B game, Stewartry will have a tough game when Watsonians visit.
There's three West Clubs competing for the title in National 1, with Glasgow Uni currently in pole position, but both Greenock and Annan aren't far behind (Annan also have a couple of games in hand). Glasgow Uni have no game this weekend, so Greenock visit to 2nd place Broughton is a huge game that could see Greenock top on points difference by close of play. Annan have an away game at Garioch.
In National 2, Oban are clear at the top having won 8 from 8 - they have the weekend off, so the only other West Club on duty this weekend are Helensburgh who are looking for their first league win of the season when they welcome Lismore.
