West League Update - West 3 - 16 April 2018

Congratulations to Wigtownshire who confirmed the West 3 Championship title at the weekend with a 42-14 victory over Glasgow Uni Medics.  This caps off an impressive season for Shire who have lost only one game between league and Bowl competitions, and have accumulated 14 try bonus points from 15 games.

Bishopton won 19-10 away at Lochaber, which puts them 6 points clear of the Medics, though the Medics do have a game in hand.  It’s between these two for the second promotion spot and they have still to meet each other on 12th May, so it’s probably down to this game (though the Medics may still be due a points deduction for failing to make their trip to Mull).

The Medics re-arranged game with Mull is now showing on the SRU website as 5th May, but Mull are also showing as travelling to Moffat that day, so the Medics possibly going to Mull on 19th May.

A 45-5 win away at Mull looks to have secured fourth place for Shawlands as they’re now 15 points ahead of Lochaber.  Shawlands have only one game remaining, Cowal on 5th May -  a win here and depending on any points deduction for the Medics, could see them challenging the Medics for third.

Further down the table, Moffat gained their first league win of the season with a 27-23 victory over Hyndland which moves them ahead of Mull.
