West 3 Update - 25th February 2019

West 3 has been tight all season, and this weekend saw a change at the top as Uni Medics won against 36 -13 away at Mull, whilst WD had a rest weekend.  And to add some additional spice, the two leaders face each other this weekend coming.
The win for Uni Medics means both they and WD have played 12 games, winning 11 each and losing one a piece.  With only five point separating them on points difference, the only real difference between them is the lose bonus point picked up by the Medics.

This weekends game should be a cracker, and with it being played on the firm 3G surface at Pollock Park this will surely favour the Medics.  But with Storm Freyia forecast to hit on Saturday, this will work against the students and favour the WD forward power.  We're going with a WD win, but it could go either way.

Birkmyre had a comfortable 59 nil against Hyndland, which puts them five points ahead of Hyndland in the table.  Hyndland will have a chance to get revenge this weekend with Birkmyre making the return journey to Scotstoun Stadium.

In the weekends only other game Cowal won a close one against Shawlands, 15-14 and like the Birkmyre v Hyndland game, the fixture is reversed this weekend.

With such a comfortable win last week, we're going with Birkmyre to come out on top again this weekend, but we'll go with Shawlands getting revenge for last weekends defeat to Cowal.

In this weekends last game we have Moffat making the trip to Mull.  This league table suggests a win for Mull, but it looks like they've been struggling for numbers again recently, so it could go down as Moffats first win of the season - however, we're going with a home win.
