It was all pretty low scoring in West 1 on Saturday, with the biggest win being by only three points, and that was an 8 - 5 thriller between Newton Stewart and Garnock which saw Newton Stewart come out on top, enough to put them into 2nd place as Carrick lost 17-15 in Oban.
East Kilbride remain on top, but a 12 each draw with 6th placed Kilmarnock suggest they might not be able to go the full season unbeaten.
The relegation battle got interesting as well. Earlier in the week, Irvine announced some additional investment that has led to a new coaching team and the suggestion that a couple of former internationalists will be joining the ranks - some interesting names have been mentioned. They ended Saturday evening with their first win of the season and a move off the foot of the table after a 25-24 win against Alan Glens. Helensburgh failed to send a team to Annan, so a points deduction will be on its' way, which probably now makes them favourites for the drop.
Things were spiced up a bit in West 2 as well, where Cambuslang lost their unbeaten record at Stewartry, leaving the gap between them in first and second at only five points. Paisley are a further two points behind after they had a comprehensive 20 points to 3 victory over Clydebank. Waysiders had a big win against early pace setters Millbrae, who now find themselves drifting towards the foot of the table.
Strathendrick continue their dominance in West 3, making it 7 from 7 after a comfortable victory at Police Scotland - they have still only conceded 25 points in the campaign so far. The battle for 2nd was won by Uddingston, but Strathaven must think they're still in the hunt as they only lost out 20 - 22. Loch Lomond will still be keeping an eye on the 2nd place contest following their victory over Wigtownshire.
Birkmyre had a crucial win against Moffat which moves them off the foot of table, one point ahead of Police Scotland and one behind Wigtownshire.
The carnage in West 4 continues, as we had another two games off this week. With Glasgow Alphas and Glasgow East already having withdrawn from the league, it can't be long before Clydesdale join them - they have fulfilled only one game so far this season. The only result from West 4 was a 13-12 win for Cowal at Shawlands. Though neither of the top two played, Glasgow Uni Medics continue to top the table, five points ahead of Lanark. These two meet each other this weekend in one the crucial games of the season.
