World Rugby 7s - Dubai 2017

Day 2:
Scotland didn't get off to a great start on Day 2, losing out in the Cup quarter-final to Fiji - 35-24.  Two first half tries from Darcy Graham, and one each in the second for Farndale and Fergusson.

South Africa won in the other quarter-final in the top half of the draw, setting Scotland up for a 5th place semi-final match against Samoa.

Scotland found themselves down 15-5 at half time in the Samoa game, with the Scottish try from Lowe. The 2nd half didn't get off to a great start with an early try for Samoa, but the come back saw tries for Graham, McLennan and Farndale, to give a full time score of 22 all.  Alas extra-time didn't last too long as Samoa scored the golden try within two minutes to give a final score of 27-22.

Scotland get 10 points for finishing joint seventh.  South Africa won the Cup with a 24-12 victory over New Zealand.

Day 1:

A pretty good start to the Dubai leg of the World 7s tournament for Scotland, with two wins in the group phase meaning they progress to the Cup quarter-final on Day 2.

Scotland kicked off their campaign with a 24-14 win over France, and followed that up with a 26-21 victory over Spain.  In the final game of the day, Scotland were looking for the clean sweep, but were on the wrong end of a 29-0 result against England.

Their Cup quarter-final opposition are Fiji; win or lose, their next opponents will be either South Africa or Somoa in a semi-final.
