Vancouver:

Same teams in the Pool stages as last week in LA - we lost three from three, so here's hoping for an improvement.

World Rugby 7s - Women - Round 6 - Biarritz

Scotland Women make their debut in this year main World Rugby 7s tournie with an invitation to the final round in Biarritz.

It's a tough looking group with current leaders New Zealand, as well as the 6th and 7th ranked teams in England and Russia.

World Rugby 7s - Round 10 - Paris

Round 10 (the last round of the season) of the World Rugby 7s kicks-off this weekend in Paris.

It's been an okish season for Scotland, but getting a consistent run of results across a full weekend has been a bit of an issue.

Our best result came in the round 3 in New Zealand with a fifth place finish, but that was followed up with only a single point in Australia in round 4.

We currently sit in 10th place (which should be safe), though Canada could overtake us if they win this weekends tournie.

HSBC World 7s - Dubai

The World 7s Series kicks-off again this weekend, and Scotland are drawn against Kenya, Fiji and France. Looks like an awkward group to get things kicked-off in Dubai.

Viva Las Vegas - it's World 7s again this weekend

Scotland didn't get off to the greatest of starts as they kicked off the campaign with a loss in a close fought match against Argentina, going down 21-19.  Argentina though did go on to top the group with further wins against both New Zealand and Urugauy.

World Rugby 7s - Cape Town 2017

Day 2:
Not a great start to Day 2 for Scotland as they suffer a rather one sided 24-7 defeat against Spain in the Trophy quarter final, despite Elms opening the scoring.

The loss to Spain meant the best finish Scotland could now look forward to was 13th, with an initial play-off match against Kenya.  However a try apiece for Farndale and McCann was just not enough to match the Kenyans who won the game 33-12.

It was a disappointing finish, which means Scotland gain only one ranking point for 15th place.

After the two rounds to date, Scotland have 11 ranking points which mean they sit in 13th place in the standings.

The Cape Town Cup was won by New Zealand, winning the final 38-14 against Argentina.

The next round of the tournament takes place in Sydney starting on 26 January, and Scotland are drawn against Canada, USA, and hosts Australia - all of whom are now higher than us in the rankings.

World Rugby 7s - Dubai 2017

Day 2:
Scotland didn't get off to a great start on Day 2, losing out in the Cup quarter-final to Fiji - 35-24.  Two first half tries from Darcy Graham, and one each in the second for Farndale and Fergusson.

South Africa won in the other quarter-final in the top half of the draw, setting Scotland up for a 5th place semi-final match against Samoa.
