Predictor Challenge Update - 27th October 2018

There were some pretty binary looking predictions amongst last weeks Predictor Challenge Odds and at 69%, the weekends Challenge shows the highest success rate of any week so far but, just because we hit a new high, doesn’t mean there wasn't a shock or two along the way.

The biggest shock was West 1 league leaders East Kilbride losing to Irvine.  85.7% of us had this down as an EK win, so well done to the folk who went with Irvine.

The other surprise result was at the Anchor Playing Fields where Millbrae drew with Paisley – 83.3% of us went for a Paisley win. Well done to Ped for calling the draw in that one.

There were a couple of close calls as well, although they did go with the Predictor odds – in the Cambuslang v Dalziel game, 80.4% had this as home win, but it took a few tries in the last 15 minutes for Cambus to secure that one, whilst Lomonds visit to Wigtownshire was down as a 87% home win, but again, with only 10 points in it, it perhaps wasn’t as clear cut as the majority of us were expecting.

In this weeks competition, there were a load of us who got 11 from 14 correct (78.6%), but we have three entrants with 12 from 14 (85.7%), so congrats to Animal, Jamie Doolan and Euan.  Across the West 1 fixtures, 19 entrants got 5 from 6 correct, but Jamie Doolan and Ewan both scored 100%.

We had 56 entrants to last weeks Challenge, submitting 769 entries across the 14 games played.

Magoo earns a WeegieRugby hat for being our top predictor in October with an 82.8% success rate. Keith Bradley takes second (78.0%), with Gordon Milne in third (77.8%).  October has seen 109 different entrants making 2,942 predictions across the games played, with an average success rate of 66%.

On our overall leader board, all of the top 10 are running at a 75%+ success rate, with Magoo leading the way on 82.8% from 29 predictions (in both the October and overall competitions we’ve set a limit of at least two weeks worth of predictions).

We have had 128 different entrants to the Predictor Challenge since it kicked off in September, and between us have submitted 4,122 predictions across the games played, with an average success rate 65%.

The Random Results Generator is sitting at a success rate of 53%.

This weekends fixture card throws up some interesting contests which we're guessing will make it difficult to achieve a similar success rate to last weekend. If you want to take part in this weeks Predictor Challenge, enter here.
