Pete Burgon Replaces Eck in Glasgow North Regional Director Role

Scottish Rugby have announced that Pete Burgon will replace Alex Edmonstone as Regional Director for the Glasgow North region. ​



Pete will take up his Regional Director post in August and will oversee the delivery of rugby locally and be the lead contact for grassroots clubs across Glasgow North.

Most recently, Pete has been employed at the University of St Andrews.  His seven year spell at the Uni was kicked off as Saints Sport’s Club and Competitions Manager, before moving on to an Assistant Director (Sport Development).

Pete is also well versed with the Club game having served a three-year term as Club Captain of Harris Academy FP in Dundee.

Quoted on the SRU website, Pete said, “It feels like a really positive time for rugby in Scotland and I've heard great things about many of the people that I will be working with, alongside working for Scottish Rugby itself. I can't wait to get started.”

Director of Rugby Development, Sheila Begbie MBE said, “We are really pleased to be welcoming Peter as one of our five Directors in the Rugby Development Dept, he joins us at an exciting time for the community game.

“He brings with him extensive knowledge of sports development and will play a key-role in delivering our strategy in the region, working closely with our clubs, schools and stakeholders across the Glasgow North area.”
