West 3 Results - 4th December 2016

The pressure continues to build in West 3, with a few high scoring games ensuring their excitement levels don’t lag behind West 1.

First up though, best wishes to the Loch Lomond player who was injured at Strathaven - we understand the boy is out of hospital.  The match was abandoned early in the second half, but the result has gone through as 7 nil in Loch Lomonds favour.

Strathendrick won 46-3 against Wigtownshire, and Uddingston won to keep them level on points with Endrick, but it was tight for them at Moffat - 41-37, cracking stuff.  Endrick still have the advantage of a game in hand.

The relegation battle continues unabated, with now only four point separating four teams.  The PSG 52-7 result against Bishopton means they leapfrog both Bishopton and Wigtownshire, and puts them on the same points as Arran.

The Arran game at Birkmyre was off, which means Arran have at least two games in hand on their fellow relegation contenders.  Whilst games in hand is currently an advantage, they’ll need to keep an eye on available fixtures dates, as last season they lost a couple of games as they ran out of available Saturdays (it can’t be easy sorting a midweek fixture when you’ve to contend with ferry journeys).

This battle at the top and bottom looks as though it is going right down to the wire - bonus points or perhaps points deducted should there be any non-fulfillment of games could be crucial and who knows, the deciding factors.

December 4th Reports:
