Following victory in the first leg of Rugby Europes Women's Sevens Trophy 2017 in Ostrava last month, Scotland knew a decent performance in the 2nd leg in Hungary this weekend would lead to promotion to the 2018 Sevens Grand Prix Series.
During Saturday, victories against Malta (41-0), Finland (38-0) and Czech Republic (45-0) put them in the driving seat, with the impressive series of results continuing on Day 2. Sunday saw wins against Latvia (50-0), Hungary in the semi-final (32-0) and victory over Germany in the final (33-5).
As a result of the final Trophy placings, Scotland and Germany qualify for next seasons Grand Prix series, replacing Sweden and Netherlands who were relegated from the GP Series earlier this month.
