Plenty of entertaining games on the schedule this weekend, with ties which will have an impact on top and bottom of each of the three leagues.
Congratulations to Jamie Neil who tops the Predictor Challenge at the end of September with 81%.
This weekends fixtures.
West 1:
Allan Glens v Cambuslang
Cambuslang moved ahead of Glens on Saturday following a last minute in against Stewartry, though Glens do have a game in hand. Both lost to Greenock, whilst Glens beat EK by a point and Cambus lost to EK by a point. This looks like it will be close. In such cases we'll normally go with home advantage being the difference. Glens win.
Annan v Cumnock
7th v 9th, but Annan are five points ahead with a game in hand. Looks like Cumnock gave EK a bit of a fright on Saturday though they lost in the end, whilst Annan lost the week before also to EK. Cumnock have lost four from five, but three of these teams are currently sitting in the top three positions. Could be close, but will go home win.
Dalziel v East Kilbride
Big derby game - Dalziel picked up a hard fought but scrappy win last week in the Shield, whilst EK will be grateful they came away with the points against Cumnock. Dalziel look to have gone for a more forward orientated game plan, so if EK can use their pace in the backs they should win this one - EK win.
Garnock v Strathendrick
4th v 8th, but only 6 points between them and Endrick with a game in hand. Garnock look to be regaining a bit of last years form - home win.
Kilmarnock v Greenock Wanderers
Bottom v top - good be a big scoreline - away win.
Stewartry v Irvine
10th v 6th - Stewartry 1 win from 5, Irvine 2 from 5. Both had very tight games against Cambuslang. Irvine scoring more points and conceding fewer (though for Stewartry, 144 of the points conceded came in the first three weeks, which included games against Greenock & EK). Looks like being tight, so will go with home advantage.
West 2:
Bishopton v Paisley
Another derby game - it's 4th v 8th. Paisley are struggling to find last years form, having won only 1 from 5, but they lost by only 3 points last week to leaders Uddy. Bishopton have won 3 from 5, but lost their last two. Probably be close, so should go with home advantage, but got a feeling about this one - away win.
Cumbernauld v Wigtownshire
Due to call-offs from opposition teams, Cumbernauld have only played two league games, winning 1 and losing 1. Shire have played 5 and only won 1, last week against Bishopton. Shire also beat Cumbernauld in the Shield. It's a month since Cumbernauld played a competitive game, so as a result, will go with Shire.
Helensburgh v Clydebank
7th v 5th, but Clydebank have a game in hand. Helensburgh have won their last two games, whilst Clydebank went down to a heavy defeat to Kilmarnock in the Shield last week. Away win.
Lenzie v Oban Lorne
2nd v 3rd and probably game of the day in West Region. Both scoring loads, both looking to play open fast rugby, but both lost out to West 1 opponents in the Shield last week. Whoever wins this one probably become favourites for the title. Will go with home advantage.
Millbrae v Loch Lomond
12th v 11th - both struggling for numbers as between them they failed to fulfill three games. Neither team have a win to their names. Both have run Helensburgh close in the last couple of weeks. Will go with home advantage.
Uddingston v Strathaven
1st v 6th, but expecting this to be closer than their positions suggestion. Both have beaten Paisley in the last few weeks. Uddy scoring more and have home advantage, so home win.
West 3:
Cowal v Lochaber
2nd v 3rd, and another contender for game of the day. Between the two of them, the only game that's been lost was Lochaber to leaders WD. Both scoring plenty of points and (apart from the WD game), not conceding many. Could be close, but will go with home advantage.
Glasgow Uni Medics v Hyndland
Sorry Alex, this is going to be another hard day at the office. Home win.
Police Scotland Glasgow v Birkmyre
6th v 7th - Birmyre have already beaten PSG in the Bowl this year, and got revenge on Mull last week in the Bowl semi having lost to them in the league the week before. The loss to Mull two weeks ago will sting be stinging and provide the motivation not to slip up again. Away win.
Shawlands v Moffat
8th v 10th, with both struggling to score many in the league. Only win between them was Shawlands victory against Hyndland. Probably not a great deal in it, so will go with home advantage.
Waysiders/Drumpellier v Isle of Mull
1st v 5th, but Mull with a game in hand. Mulls only league defeat has been up at Lochaber. Could be close, but suspect WD forward power over 80 minutes will be the difference. Home win.
