The West Region Championship Committee have called a Clubs Meeting to present options for the structure of the West Leagues for season 2019/20 for Wednesday 6th of March.
At the end of last season, Clubs expressed a desire to review the structure of the West Leagues, and to find a format that would provide the correct balance of structured fixtures whilst allowing gaps for Autumn Tests and 6 Nations fixtures, without needing to run the season into late April and May.
These discussions were put on hold whilst Gavin MacColl QC conducted an independent review of the structure of the leagues, and specifically the impacts of the Super 6 initiative.
Gavin MacColl QC has now produced his final report which will be presented to an SGM of Scottish Rugby over the coming weeks.
Final details of the options to be discussed at the West Region League meeting will be circulated to Clubs ahead of the meeting, with the intention of reaching an agreement on the night that can be implemented for season 2019/20.
