West 1:
In West 1, Glens had a comfortable win against Cambuslang, but then the rest of the games went down to the wire.
Leaders Kilmarnock won a nailbiter against East Kilbride (by a point). No bonus point for Kilmarnock, so their lead over Glens is cut to two points.
Third place Lenzie lost on the road to Annan, by two points with the winning try coming right at the death, which means Stewartry replace them in third following their one point win at Strathendrick.
We've had two West 1 games decided by a point and another by two points, so not to be outdone, Garnock and Irvine conjured up a 26 each draw.
Kilmarnock are top by two, but Glens have a couple of games in hand. Stewartry move ahead of Lenzie, up to third, but are still 9 points behind Kilmarnock, though they do have a game in hand.
Following their draw with Garnock, Irvine move off the bottom of the table, but with Endrick picking up a lose bonus point, there's only one point separating the bottom three.
We have another cracking set of fixtures this weekends, including leaders visiting second place Glens. We also have Garnock at Lenzie which could see the victors move into third place, though Stewartry will have something to say about that in their derby game against Annan. In the relegation battle, the big game sees Irvine hosting Cambuslang.
West 2:
Not to be outdone, the West 2 title battle got another kick up the backside on Saturday.According to our Super 8 Challenge, Dalziel were most folks favourites to win the league, and with 7 wins from 7 (including last weeks close contest against Oban), they were delivering on this expectation - but Cumnock just gave the competition an injection of "oomph".
Cumnock led for most of the match, but there was never more than a score in it, finishing at 23 - 19. Dalziel lose the undefeated banner, but do pick up a lose bonus point.
League leaders Strathaven were made to work hard for their win away at Helensburgh , having been only 7 nil up a half time. The victory keeps them on top, now 7 points ahead of both Dalziel & Cumnock, though Dalziel do have a game in hand.
Paisley look to have dropped out of the title battle having lost at Wigtownshire, which gives Shire a bit of breathing space ahead of the bottom two, however they drop behind WD as they had a bonus point win against Oban Lorne. Clydebanks win against Uddingston leaves them just three points behind Oban.
Loads to look forward to next week with a couple of tasty encounters in Strathaven v Cumnock and Dalziel v WD.
West 3:
The Conference set-up in West 3 is making sure there are plenty of Clubs with an interest in the promotion battle.Loch Lomond are leading the Conference 1 race, following a tight 10-8 victory on Mull. Mull drop to third in Conference 2, but at only four points behind, they're still very much in the race.
Lochaber remain in second in Conference 1, despite a big defeat (79 - 5) at the Uni Medics. It's by far their biggest defeat of the season, so it would be interesting to hear if the story behind this one (especially with the Bowl Final between the two due in a couple of weeks).
The win put Uni Medics top of Conference 2, a point ahead of Birkmyre who won against Hyndland - Birkmyre missing out on the try bonus point.
Cumbernaulds win away at Lanark, means they are now only five points behind Lochaber in Conference 1, so they'll be keeping an eye on any further slip-ups from Lochaber.
In our other games, Cowal were unable to raise a team to travel to Bishopton, whilst Shawlands claimed a 31-14 victory over Moffat.
This weekend we have another great set of fixtures to look forward to. The standout game has leaders of Conference 2, Uni Medics, hosting their nearest challengers Birkmyre, whilst third place Mull travel to fourth placed Bishopton.
Loch Lomond are hosting Hyndland who prevented Birkmyre picking up a bonus point on Saturday, whilst Lochaber have another journey this weekend, this time to Moffat.
