West 3 Results - 17 December 2016

Three games off at the weekend in West 3, including the ones involving the top two.  Bishopton v Uddingston was off due to a waterlogged pitch, whilst both Birkmyre and Arran were unable to raise teams to fulfill their games.

The remaining games saw Loch Lomond win 27-5 away at Moffat, whilst the contest between the bottom two teams saw Wigtownshire win 27-24 at Police Scotland.  With Arran not playing, this result sees both Wigtownshire and PSG move above Arran (PSG gaining a lose bonus point).

In the title battle, we have only one point between Strathendrick and Uddingston, but at the foot of the table there's 7 points separating six teams in the relegation battle.

Arran have missed a number of games during the season, so still have eight to play, this compares with PSG who have four games of their league campaign left. There’s still lots to play for, but PSG must be concerned that their closest competitors might steal a march on them, even just by collecting bonus points.

As with West 1 & 2, we need to keep an eye on the National 3 relegation battle, as two coming down to the Regional Leagues will have the knock-on effect of two dropping to West 4; that would certainly make things very tasty in the relegation contest.

Again, no points have been docked for unfulfilled fixtures in West 3 - a change of heart from the Championship Committee could have a major impact, as Arran have three unfulfilled games to their name.
