Predictor Challenge Update - 26th January 2019

The weather had an impact on the number of games again in last weeks Predictor Challenge with four being lost.  The Cumbernauld v Lenzie game was also lost, but this was down to a referee injury which meant the game was abandoned, and with it finishing before the 60 minute mark, the result did not stand.

World Rugby 7s Returns with Round 3 in New Zealand

The HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series returned this weekend with the tournament taking place in Hamilton, New Zealand.

It was a good round for Scotland, claiming a fifth place finish, their best finish so far in this Series, adding 13 points to their overall standing.

West 1 Update - 22nd January 2019

There was no game for West 1 league leaders East Kilbride on Saturday so it was a chance for the chasing pack to close the gap.

West Results - 19th January 2019

Allan Glens were away at in-form Irvine, it was tight, but Glens managed to secure the bonus point win.  Game of the day however took place at Fort Matilda where fourth placed Greenock Wanderers welcomed second placed Garnock.  Both have been scoring plenty of points and conceding few, so again it looked like being tight.  Greenock won this one 23-18, but there was no try bonus-point for either though Garnock do pick up a lose bonus point.

West 3 Update - 15th January 2019

Only three games played in West 3 last weekend, and they're all away wins. 

With WDs game being off as PSG were unable to field a team, the Medics increased their lead at the top of the table with a 32-17 win away at Moffat.

Lenzies win at Uddingston on Saturday puts them 21 points clear at the top of West 2 as Oban Lorne move into 2nd place following their tight win at Loch Lomond.

Lenzie and Oban have both played 14 games, so have 8 remaining, whilst Uddy have 9 remaining. Both Oban and Uddy will be looking to get to the end of the season unbeaten, picking up bonus points in their remaining games, whilst clinging to the hope that Lenzie lose a few games - the only issue is, Uddy visit Oban this weekend, so that ruins that idea.

The top 4 in West 1 are well clear of the rest, so on most weekends folk in general are pencilling in wins for each of them, so weekends like the one just gone become crucial to the championship run-in as one of the challengers is down to visit another.
