Three games off at the weekend in West 3, including the ones involving the top two. Bishopton v Uddingston was off due to a waterlogged pitch, whilst both Birkmyre and Arran were unable to raise teams to fulfill their games.
The remaining games saw Loch Lomond win 27-5 away at Moffat, whilst the contest between the bottom two teams saw Wigtownshire win 27-24 at Police Scotland. With Arran not playing, this result sees both Wigtownshire and PSG move above Arran (PSG gaining a lose bonus point).

West 2 Results - 17 December 2016
It’s a two horse race at the top of West 2, with both Cambuslang and Stewartry scoring plenty of points. At the weekend, Cambuslang beat Cumbernauld 47-7 and Stewartry beat Paisley 42-26.
Cambuslang are currently 7 points clear at the top of the table, but Stewartry do have a game in hand.

West 1 Results - 17 December 2016
For three of the four contenders for the West 1 title, there are now only four games remaining. At this point in the season, any dropped points by a Club will likely have a major impact on their title challenge.
Bearing this in mind, East Kilbride and Carrick will be wondering if their disappointing results from last weekend can be overcome or if they have delivered a fatal blow to their ambitions of playing in the National Leagues. East Kilbride drew 20 points each with Annan, whilst Carrick lost at Irvine 19-15.

West 4 Results - 10th December 2016
With the Glasgow Uni Medics game being off, Lanark and Mull both got themselves bonus point wins to give us a three way tie at the top of West 4, and only 7 separating the three of them on points difference. Lanark won 36-33 away at Hyndland, whilst Mull won 25-20 at Cowal.
West 3 Results - 10th December 2016
Two wins for the top two in West 3 - Strathendrick a big 76 -3 away in Arran, but Uddingston had a much closer 16-10 victory at home to Birkmyre; the bonus point puts Endrick one point ahead in first place, whilst still having a game in hand.
It’s Strathendricks turn to host Birkmyre this weekend, whilst Uddie are away at 7th placed Bishopton.
West 2 Results - 10th December 2016
Wins for both Cambuslang and Stewartry at the top of West 2, with Cambuslang victors at Cumnock 21-15, and Stewartry winning 22-12 at home against Millbrae. This is a two horse race with Cambuslang 7 points ahead, though Stewartry do have a game in hand.
Both will be looking for wins this weekend when Cambuslang travel to Cumbernauld and Stewartry host Paisley - bonus points could be crucial come the end of the season, so expect a few tries.
West 1 Results - 10th December 2016
In the space of two weeks, East Kilbride have gone from being unbeaten and 6 points clear at the top of West 1, to now having lost two on the trot after going down 13 - 8 away at Garnock at the weekend. This means they now find themselves a point behind Newton Stewart in 2nd place who scraped an 8-6 win at Annan - all very tasty.
But it doesn’t stop there, Carricks' 39 -13 win against Glens means they’re now only three off top spot, having been 9 behind a couple of weeks ago.

West 4 Results - 4th December 2016
Unfortunately, the turmoil of West 4 got a bit deeper at the weekend.
With Glasgow Alphas and Glasgow East having withdrawn earlier in the season, and the almost weekly struggle for Clydesdale to field a team, things took another turn when league leaders, Glasgow University Medics, failed to make the trip to Mull.

The pressure continues to build in West 3, with a few high scoring games ensuring their excitement levels don’t lag behind West 1.
West 2 Results - 4th December 2016
By comparison to the fast and furious pace of West 1, West 2 is a sombre affair, more, steady as she goes.

West 1 - Mid-season Report
To make sure they're not being left behind by the rest of the West Regional Leagues, West 1 are also treating their interested parties to a scrap for the sole promotion place.
At the half way point, both East Kilbride and Newton Stewart are still unbeaten, with the two of them having drawn two games each - East Kilbride are on 46 points whilst Newton Stewart are on 40, but they have a game in hand. Newton Stewart have the slightly better points difference which could be crucial at the end of the season.

West 2 - Mid-season Report
As with West 3, West 2 is turning into a tasty wee contest at the top, though things are a little less exciting down the foot.
McLaren pulled out of the league early doors, so it leaves a league of 9, which potentially means no relegation, but that's not certain as the relegation battle in National 3 can have an impact.

West 3 - Mid-season Report
It's all nice and competitive in West 3, both in the race for the championship and for relegation - perhaps the most competitive league in Scotland.
West 4 - Mid-season Report
Half way through the season, and we find Glasgow University Medics top of West 4 - unbeaten in seven games, averaging nearly 40 points a game at 265, whilst conceding 121.

West Region Fixtures - 19 November 2016
We already have a few games off this weekend, and with the current forecast we think there maybe more, especially as we have early kick-offs due to the Scotland game.

West Region Fixtures - 12 November 2016
With the Autumn Tests this weekend, we only have a few competitive fixtures on the card in West Region.
The West 4 league match between Shawlands and Clydesdale is off again, and we wouldn't be surprised if a couple of the BT Bowl and Shield games also succumb to the realisation that early kick-offs on the same day that Scotland are playing at 2:30 is not necessarily a sensible option.
Here's what's currently scheduled:

West Region Results - 5th November 2016
With the Autumn Tests upon us, many of us have a break from league business, so todays update is just a quickie and we'll look at each of the West Regional Leagues in a bit more detail over the next week or so.
In West 1, East Kilbride and Newton Stewart maintained their unbeaten records, but Carrick fell behind the pacesetters with defeat at Glens.

West Region Fixtures - 5th November 2016
The top 3 in West 1 will all be looking for wins this weekend, but with Newton Stewart and Carrick both away from home, they certainly shouldn't be banking on it. East Kilbride have a home game against Oban, so we're expecting them to continue their unbeaten run.
At the foot of the table, we're not expecting either Helensburgh or Oban to come away with wins, but bonus points are crucial, so anything they can pick up will be vital in the relegation contest.

West Region Results - 29 October 2016
The three horse race in West 1 continues as East Kilbride, Newton Stewart and Carrick all recorded victories at the weekend. East Kilbride lead on 43 points, 7 ahead of the chasing two, but Newton Stewart do have a game in hand.
At the foot of the table, the bottom three all lost, with Helensburgh continuing to prop up the table. Each of them have tough games again this weekend, so probably not much change coming in this contest; the search for bonus points must continue, even if victories are elusive.

West Region Fixtures - 29 October 2016
East Kilbride should have a comfortable day away at Helensburgh, so match of the day in West 1 is probably going to be Carrick v Garnock - 2nd v 4th.

West Region Results - 22 October 2016
East Kilbride maintained their unbeaten record in West 1 at the weekend, but in doing so recorded their second draw in a fortnight. Carrick move back into 2nd place following their win against Helensburgh, with Newton Stewart down to third. Newton Stewart however have a game in hand on the two above, though both East Kilbride and Carrick have more bonus points to their names.

Week 9 Fixtures - 22 October 2016
It's a top of the table clash in West 1 this week, with Newton Stewart traveling to East Kilbride - both defences are pretty tight so far whilst in attack they're averaging 30 points a game. It's going to be a close contest. 3rd place Carrick host bottom of the table Helensburgh, who hopefully will be able to put a team together to travel this week.

West Region Results - Week 8
It was all pretty low scoring in West 1 on Saturday, with the biggest win being by only three points, and that was an 8 - 5 thriller between Newton Stewart and Garnock which saw Newton Stewart come out on top, enough to put them into 2nd place as Carrick lost 17-15 in Oban.

Week 8 Fixtures - 15 October 2016
The top two in West 1 are away from home, wth East Kilbride @ Klmarnock and Carrick @ Oban - both fixtures could be tricky, but we're expecting away wins here. Newton Stewart in third have a home game, but they're playing fourth place Garnock, who have only conceded 79 points in 7 games. This one could be close and low scoring.

West Region Results - Week 7
East Kilbride maintained their winning run in West 1 with a comfortable 51-14 win over league strugglers Irvine. Thanks to Carrick & Newton Stewart drawing 25 each in the 2nd v 3rd contest, East Kilbride now find themselves further ahead at the top, and must now be thinking their visit to the Regional leagues has just been a one season affair. Although Irvine are without a win, they're still only three points behind Helensburgh who suffered a heavy 44-7 home defeat against Oban, who before the weekend were sitting in 2nd bottom place.

Week 6 - 1st October Fixtures
In West 1, the top two are both away this weekend, with East Kilbride visiting 6th place Allan Glens and Carrick at fifth place Kilmarnock. Newton Stewart in third are still unbeaten after last weeks trip to Oban was put off early doors - they look to have the more comfortable game with a home tie against Helensburgh - whose only win so far this year has been against league strugglers Irvine.

Week 5 Results - 24th September 2016
Three postponements this weekend, but at least they all look to be weather related.
East Kilbride still unbeaten at top of West 1 - Cambuslang have a similar record in West 2 and Lanark in West 4. Strathendrick still unbeaten in West 3, but as they didn't play this weekend, they slip to third.

Week 5 Fixtures - 24th September 2016
Week 5 of the West Regional fixtures this weekend.
The top 3 in West 1 all play teams currently in the bottom half of the table. Both East Kilbride and Newton Stewart are looking to keep their unbeaten records, but Newton Stewart look to have the more difficult task as their game is away at Oban - which must be close on a 5 hour bus journey for them.
Top 2 are also unbeaten in West 3, where Cambuslang play hosts to Cumbernauld and Millbrae travel to Cumnock. With McLaren having pulled out of the league it means Clydebank, who are currently in third place, have the weekend off, giving Stewartry the chance to overtake them.
In West 3, only Strathendrick are unbeaten, and they travel to bottom of the table Birkmyre, who are yet to register a win. Endrick have scored 206 points and conceded nil in 4 games, so this might be a big scoreline. It's close for 2nd spot, with Uddingston one point ahead of Strathaven and Loch Lomond. Strathaven probably have the toughest tie of the three, with a trip away to Arran.
In West 4, 2nd plays 3rd, so with the Glasgow Unis boys not playing this weekend, both Lanark & Shawlands will be looking for a chance to go top of the table.

A couple of updates have been put through in the leagues this morning, and it looks like McLaren have withdrawn from West 2, whilst Glasgow East (following their announcement on Twitter yesterday) have withdrawn from West 4.

Week 4 Results - 17th September
Results from West Region regional leagues for 17th September:
A couple of games off this weekend, with McLaren now having missed 3 from 4 games.
After 4 weeks of games, the leagues are starting to take a bit of shape. In West 1, both East Kilbride and Newton Stewart are unbeaten, whilst at the foot of the table Irvine have yet to register a win, but they have gained four bonus points.
Similarly in West 2, we have two unbeaten teams Cambuslang and Millbrae, whilst there are two teams without a win, Waysiders and McLaren - having missed three matches, you'd assume McLaren will be due a points deduction for each of these, so McLaren already look like early season favourites for relegation.
Only Strathendrick are unbeaten in West 3 - and stunningly, they've yet to concede a point, whilst Birkmyre are yet to record a win, but have five bonus points to their name from 4 games.
We have two teams in West 4 still unbeaten, Lanark and Glasgow Medics, but it's much tighter at the foot of the table where Mull, Hyndland, Clydesdale and Glasgow East have yet to register wins - three of these four have points deductions looming.
The number of unfulfilled fixtures is quite worrying, especially this early in the season. The reserve leagues are in greater difficulty. However, this is not solely a West Region issue, it's across the board of Scottish rugby. Clubs like Hawick and Gala look to be struggling to put out reserve teams in National Reserve 1, whilst Langholm failed to field a team in East 2 (despite an passionate public appeal from their Club Chairman).
The rhetoric coming out of Murrayfield is that things a going great, however the results from 4 weeks of competition suggest something else is happening.

All fixtures played in West Regional Leagues over the weekend, Reserve leagues not as successful.
T4 West youth leagues have also been redone again as more teams drop out.
For some reason there looks to be more disruption to fixtures (both youth and senior) than is usual at this time of year.

1st XV results from the weekend:
Just the two games off this weekend, an improvement, but still disappointing. However a quick squint at the 2nd xv leagues and things aren't so strong there - looks like 8 from 15 games not played in the West Reserve leagues.
